Being a teenager in this century, is immensely hard. But, I don’t think we get enough credit for it. We have to go through so many things on a daily basis, I wouldn’t know where to begin. Believe me I tried. And I know most people, even myself think I don’t have time to give myself a break. Especially considering the fact that exams are just around the corner. But, by giving ourselves a break I don’t exactly mean going on vacation, or spending a day off, because none of these things are possible without worrying about the incredible amount of work we would’ve missed. I mean going to school, and realizing that you don’t have any responsibility to impress anyone. Realizing the fact that being your true self is more than enough. And just realizing the fact that we are all human, and we are certainly not perfect. So just relax, and give yourself a break.

Quote of The Day
While watching an interview with Jean Vanier: a man overflowing with love, and devoting his life to helping others to learn how to love; Vanier said something which truly changed my perspective on the world. “You can’t be everything, but you can be something”. This quote is extremely true, especially for our generation. This is because, people our age either don’t want to change anything because they simply don’t care, or we want to change the world in the course of a day. However, none of these are legitimate options. This is simply because, they are complete extremes. By trying to be everything, we end up losing ourselves in trying to change the world. However, by really applying ourselves to a single, specific topic and idea that we are fiercely passionate about, we can truly make a difference. My passion is to give to the less fortunate and helping to make a difference in the lives of the poor, and the afflicted. What’s your something?

“This new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one! -C. JoyBell C. |
Hi,
It’s me Dinithi Jayasuriya. Long name, I know. That is why you can call me Dawn. This being my first post, I would like to explain to you what this blog is going to be about. First, let me start off by telling you how I simultaneously fear and admire our generation. Sometimes I feel as if none of us care about anything other than making sure our outfits are “on point”, and that are eyebrows are on “fleek”. Yet, after watching people my age start magazines and blogs, and really begin to change how the world portrays our generation, while I sit in my sweatpants trying to find the next season of “Friends”. I’ve experienced something I might even call an epiphany. I realize that if we are going to be the future of this world, we must be prepared for a new dawn. However, this blog is not going to be completely about world issues, and revolutionizing all of mankind. We will get there someday. But for that to even be a possibility, we must be prepared to revolutionize ourselves. Therefore, I will be blogging about politics, climate change, etc. Nevertheless, I will also be blogging about friendships, relationships, food, and all other wonderful aspects of our everyday lives. I hope you enjoy reading this blog, as much as I enjoy writing it. Happy Holidays.
Sincerely,
Dinithi Jayasuriya
